When organizations realized that it would be good to know the quality of its products and services, the seed was planted of what has developed into quality management.

The path towards quality management started with testing inputs and outputs: quality control. The second step has been structuring processes with proper checks and balances so that quality of the output of such processes was assured. From there, organizations are adopting quality management as an all-embracing philosophy where quality and continual improvement become ‘core business’.
